Planning and Zoning

The Planning and Zoning Division is responsible for the current and long range planning activities which guide the orderly growth and development of the City of Perry. These planning activities are performed through implementation of the Perry Land Development Ordinance (PLDO) along with shaping growth and redevelopment to meet the City’s Comprehensive Plan. The Division prepares and presents recommendations that ensure compliance with the PLDO in partnership with the Perry Planning Commission to achieve a livable city while balancing the needs of residents and businesses.

Responsibilities

The department receives and processes the following:

  • Variances
  • Administrative Appeals
  • Preliminary Plats
  • Final Plats (greater than five lots)
  • Rezonings

2018 Perry Planning Commission Schedule – Please note that only one meeting per month is dedicated to review of applications and preliminary plats.  The second meeting of the month is dedicated as a work session for continued updating of the Perry Land Management Ordinance.  Applications and preliminary plats MAY be reviewed at the second meeting of the month at the Planning Commission Chairman’s discretion and with good cause shown.
