Relaxation is definitely in order after a hard week's work, and Perry is just the place for it.  For organized athletic challenges, the Perry Parks and Recreation Department offers competitive league play for all ages.   Football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, tennis and sporting camps are just a few of the more popular programs.  Numerous instructional classes such as gymnastics, modeling, clogging, dog obedience, various dance and yoga classes and much more are also available.

Whether your interests lie in fishing, organized team sports or just tossing about your Frisbee, you are always welcome at one of Perry's four city parks --- Calhoun and Lawson Parks both located on Tucker Road, Creekwood Park on Creekwood Drive and Rozar Park on Keith Drive.  Perry's parks contain well-kept ballfields, basketball and tennis courts, and picnic and playground areas.  Creekwood Park, a 29-acre recreation center, includes a swimming facility, which offers swimming lessons, pool parties, as well as open swim sessions throughout the summer months.   Rozar Park has two fishing ponds which are stocked with bass, catfish and bream.   The annual youth fishing rodeo officially begins each season.  Enjoy a bit of nature and take a stroll on the nature trail which surrounds the ponds.  Two picnic pavilions are available for all types of events.

Rozar Park also has a 28,000 square foot community center which houses both the Perry Parks and Recreation Department and the Middle Georgia Older Americans Council.  The building accommodates luncheons, receptions, lectures, instructional classes, club meetings, concerts, and fund-raisers.  The facility provides a large community room, complete with a stage and kitchen access, a gymnasium, including locker rooms and shower facilities, a multi-purpose room with a specialized activity floor, conference room, arts and crafts room, administrative offices and the senior center.  Most of the rooms can be rented for a nominal fee.

The Perry Parks and Recreation Department's staff is committed to providing quality recreational programming, facilities, and special events which enhance the quality of life for the entire community.

Message from the City Manager:

Perry has long had the reputation of being a leader in many areas of local government, including technology. Maintaining this reputation requires that we stay on the leading edge of citizen and visitor services.

Our new web site provides for the next generation of services for our citizens and visitors. This new generation includes electronic government capability. Hopefully, you will see this new technology evolve before your very eyes from this web site.

We invite you to be part of Perry's Electronic Government and provide your suggestions and ideas on how we can best serve you. Perry is a "Special Place" but it is also becoming "the Most Exciting City in Middle Georgia."

Sincere Regards,

R. Lee Gilmour
City Manager
