The City of Perry
demonstrated its commitment to technology in November 2000 with the formation of
the Department of Information Technology. This was the first step in the process
of developing an Information Technology Strategy for the City. The Information
Technology Department is unique in that its charge is to provide leadership and
guidance on technology issues to the City of Perry. The Department
continues toward the goal of establishing the reputation of Perry as a Connected Community in order to reflect Perry’s cooperative spirit and its
commitment to encouraging the electronic exchange of information and ideas.
The Technology Department provides effective, efficient and timely technology services to all
City departments. This is accomplished through long range technology planning, effective management and administration of Local Area Networks (LANs), the Wide Area Network (WAN), and user workstations, and an emphasis on reliability and customer service.
