The City of Perry is working with commercial property owners to improve the economic vitality and stability of the General Courtney Hodges Boulevard corridor. Building on current efforts underway by commercial property owners and the City of Perry, we are asking property owners in the area to consider the possibility of entering into a Community Improvement District (CID). CIDs are a powerful economic development tool, created and driven by the property owners in the district and could serve as a catalyst for community ownership, sustainable growth, and enhanced economic activity within one of Perry’s most important business districts. It is important to remember that CIDs are created and administered at the behest of the property owners in the district, not the City.
We want your input and assistance! There will be multiple informational sessions / public hearings where you will be able to express your concerns, desires, etc. regarding the proposed CID and have your questions answered. The first of these sessions will be held on Monday, August 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the former Jaycees building at 710 Carroll Street, Perry, GA.
For these meetings please have in mind projects you would like to see completed that will promote your interests and the interests of the district as we will be putting together a project list that will outline possible CID projects. These projects can range from infrastructure improvements such as roads, water, sewer, sidewalks, and street lights to services such as landscaping, recreation, and security.
Please find linked below an informational sheet outlining CIDs and the process of creating a CID:
