Public Works Department
Mission
The mission of the Department of Public Works is to provide professional leadership, management and detailed guidance in the execution of engineering principals, policies and programs. To provide accurate information, friendly service and be customer driven.
The Public Works Department currently serves a estimated population of 15,000 within a twenty five (25) square mile City limit.
Responsibilities
- To provide utility services in the safest and most economical manner for the citizens of Perry.
- To continue to promote the quality of life expected in the City of Perry.
- To assist other City Departments in implementing Code of Ordinance objectives.
- To update the Code of Ordinances as they apply to public works.
- To coordinate public improvements with other local, state and federal agencies.
The Departments major functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Engineering
- Water - Waste Water Treatment and Line Maintenance
- Natural Gas
- Solid Waste and Recycling
- Street and Grounds Maintenance
- Vehicle and Fleet Maintenance
