Payments

All bills are due 15 days from the date of bill are issued or the following business day if the due date falls on a weekend or holiday.   If the payment is not in the office by 5:00 p.m. on this date a 10% penalty will be added to the past due balance.  Failure to receive a bill does not relieve your obligation to pay.  The due date indicated is for the current month bill and does not apply to the past due balance.  If past due balance has not been paid, services are subject to disconnect without prior notice.  Failure to pay this current bill within 7 days after due date will result in termination of utility service.

A service charge of $29.00 shall be made for reconnection if done during business hours.

A service charge of $58.00 shall be made for reconnection if done outside business hours.

If you feel you have received a bill in error or have another legitimate reason for not paying, you must notify the Customer Service Department in person or in writing prior to disconnection of services.

You may also drop payments into our convenient drop box located on the island in the City Hall parking lot located at 1211 Washington Street or you may mail payment by check or money order to the following address:  City of Perry, Customer Service Department, P.O. Box 2030, Perry, Georgia  31069.

Please see our current Fee Schedule for rates.  Deposits for both water commercial accounts will be based on the highest projected monthly usage or the residential rate, whichever is higher.  All deposits must be paid prior to activation of service.

• Administrative Charge --- [This fee is charged if access to the utility meter is obstructed by, but not limited to, debris, vehicles, shrubbery, weeds, tall grass or locked gates]

Natural Gas Fees

Residential/Commercial

Includes the installation of a gas line from the city main to the gas meter location.  The customer is responsible for identifying the preferred location of the gas meter.  Every effort will be made to install the meter at this location.  The City of Perry will install the gas regulator and meter, and is responsible for the maintenance of all pipe and equipment from the meter to the main.  The customer is responsible for having the final connection made to the gas meter by a licensed plumber.  Please see our current Fee Schedule for rates.

Natural Gas Rebate Program

The City of Perry Natural Gas Rebate Program offers residential customers an incentive to discover the benefits of natural gas by purchasing or converting to natural gas appliances.  The maximum amount available per home is $450.  The following rebates apply:

The Conditions for the rebate are:

• Must be property owner to qualify.
• Rebate paid in lump sum or credit on gas bill.
• City inspection required prior to payment of rebate/credit.
• Paid contractor/vendor invoice required as proof of purchase/installation on site.

The residential gas tap fee will be waived if a gas water heater is installed.

To receive your rebate, city residents must contact the City of Perry Building Official and have an inspection made to verify proper installation and to confirm how many of the above appliances have been installed [Prior to the installation of any new gas piping, residents must obtain a building permit from the Building Inspections Office].  Take your signed inspection form to the City of Perry Finance Office and a check in the amount of your rebate will, in most cases, be prepared while you wait.

To receive your rebate, county residents must contact the City of Perry Utilities Office and request an inspection to confirm how many of the above appliances have been installed.  The Houston County Building Official will verify proper installation.  Take your signed inspection form to the City of Perry Finance Office and a check in the amount of your rebate will, in most cases, be prepared while you wait.

Underground Utility Line Location Service

Georgia State Law requires that any person that digs, demolishes, trenches, drills, bores or blasts call the Utilities Protection Center of Georgia 48 hours prior to commencement of work (The 48 hours begins the next business day following receipt by the Utilities Protection Center of the locate request.  Weekends and holidays are not included in the 48 hours).  Toll Free 1-888-258-0808 for FREE underground utility locations.

Sanitation Services

Sanitation services for the residents of the City of Perry is contracted out to Advanced Disposal.  This service is provided once-a-week at a monthly charge.  Commercial solid waste collection is also available for businesses.

Residential garbage is containerized in the provided green rollout, and excess garbage may not be placed in a separate can or box as a mechanized system is utilized for collection.  Rollouts can only be curbside from noon  the day before scheduled pickup to noon the day after garbage collection.   Anything that is placed outside the rollout will not be collected.
