Perry Buzzard Drop

The Perry Buzzard Drop Committee is excited to bring the 5th Annual Buzzard Drop to Middle Georgia.  Every year the committee strives to make the next Buzzard Drop bigger and better than before. This year is definitely on track to deliver great music and fun for everyone! The Breakfast Club® will headline this year’s event at 9 p.m. on the lawn of the former courthouse on the 800 block of Carroll Street in downtown Perry.  The Breakfast Club® prides itself as being the longest running, most recognized ‘80s tribute band in the U.S.  They will definitely have Perry rocking for New Year’s. Mayor Faircloth is also excited about the event! He comments, “Please join me as we remember and celebrate numerous accomplishments in 2017, and ring in the New Year at the Buzzard Drop New Year’s Eve in Perry! We will have great entertainment, good fellowship, and kick off 2018 with a toast to our continued success! I look forward to seeing you there.” The event will have food and spirit vendors.  The admission is free.  The event starts at 7:00 p.m. with house music. Event organizers want to ensure attendees enjoy the event safely.  Personal heaters, coolers, outside alcohol and glass bottles and pets, unless service animals are prohibited.   As well for the safety of the participants the following equipment/items will not be allowed to enter the designated area for the event: bicycles, golf carts, skateboards, roller skates, and hover boards.  Handicap parking will be available at the parking lot at the corner of Commerce and Ball Streets. The City of Perry will provide a courtesy shuttle to take home residents within the city limits. Interfor recognized by Mayor and Council for donation

November 30, 2017

Representatives of Interfor-United States South were recognized by Mayor Faircloth and the Perry City Council at its November 21, 2017 meeting. The elected officials expressed on behalf of the Perry residents and visitors their appreciation and gratitude for Interfor’s donation of 8.0 acres of undeveloped land. The parcel bordering Big Indian Creek located on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive will be integral part of the extension of the Weleetka Trail which will connect Creekwood Park with the Georgia National Fairgrounds.  Mr. Nick Ausman, General Manager, affirmed Interfor’s commitment to be an involved community member.  Mayor Faircloth expressed the City’s appreciation that Interfor selected Perry for its mill operations and also its willingness to support the wellbeing of the community.  Other representatives of Interfor attending the meeting were Mr. Harry Koryzma, Mill Manager, Mr. Wade Flint, Production Superintendent, Ms. Megan Black, Human Resources and Mr. Tim Lowrimore, Public Affairs Manager.  Interfor employs 126 people at its facility on Ball Street.
