Public Notice
The beautiful trees in front of the Houston County Board of Education Administrative Building (former Perry High School) regrettably had to be removed due to disease. The trees had become a hazard for persons parking and traveling down Main Street. In generous and cooperative spirit, the Perry Rotary Club will be donating new trees which the city plans to plant early spring.

Some City of Perry email recipients have received emails and texts that appear to come from staff at the City of Perry. These emails and texts indicate the recipient is being invoiced by the City, an invoice was paid, transfer of funds was made or a notice to update address which contains a link. PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK. The City of Perry does not send invoices through links or attachments and by clicking on the link, you could be putting your city’s computer security at risk. If you have received one of these spoofed emails, please contact your IT security staff and let them know so they can take appropriate action. As a general rule, here are some things to look for when you receive an email from the City of Perry: · Verify the email address by looking closely at the actual email address. Spoofers will often very closely replicate the actual email address of someone you know and trust, but if you look at it closely, you will notice slight differences. · Any email you get that looks like it comes from The City of Perry but has a link to an invoice or other link is a not an email that came from the City of Perry. We do not invoice through links. · Whenever you get an email – from The City of Perry or anyone else – that seems suspicious to you, call the person it appears to come from and verify they sent it. · Always report any suspicious email to your IT department. The City of Perry values the trust you have put in our organization and staff. We are very disturbed that someone is taking advantage of that trust for illegal, nefarious purposes. Please know we are doing everything we can on our end to address this situation.
