The latest recipient of a crowd-funded grant to “BOOST” downtown Perry’s businesses has been announced.  Suzanne Evans, owner of Yes! It’s Consignment, was awarded $700.00 from the BOOSTers for new consignment software.  BOOST Downtown Perry is an investment group that provides micro-grants to entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses in the downtown development district.  Investors, known as BOOSTers, donate the program’s funds and vote on applications.

Downtown Merchants Council (Perry Area Chamber of Commerce): Kimberly Pinckney

Houston Home Journal: Cheri Adams

Perry Animal Hospital: Brian Burnham

Village Boutique: Dianna Hall

This recent award bring the total grants awarded to downtown Perry businesses to date to $11,300.  The program was established in 2015.

Applicants may apply for funds for purchasing supplies, business equipment or software, marketing and advertising, or eligible professional services.  BOOST grants are awarded twice annually following a brief application window. Previous recipients include Gottwals Books, Recollections by Lynn, Bodega Brew, Cory Allen Jones, Summit Physical Therapy, Davida’s Hair Salon, Tumblecheer Heroes, Mia’s Skincare Salon, Liberty Tax Service, Gentry Downtown Market, Two of a Kind, Eyewear Boutique, Central Computer Services, Shirts Like Mine and Mossy Creek Soap.
