City of Perry Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Revitalization Area Strategy Application
The City of Perry is considering applying to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for a Community Development Block Grant of up to $500,000. These funds must be used to primarily benefit low- and moderate-income persons. Additionally, the City of Perry is considering applying to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to receive the Revitalization Area Strategies designation. The Revitalization Area Strategies designation provides incentives to communities who implement comprehensive redevelopment activities for targeted areas in their city or county. The Revitalization Area Strategies designation rewards innovative local strategies and a commitment to redevelop a targeted area with a comprehensive, collaborative approach that includes public and private partners.
The activities for which these Community Development Block Grant funds may be used are in the areas of housing, public facilities, and economic development. More specific details regarding eligible activities, the estimated amount of funds proposed to be used for activities to benefit low- and moderate-income persons, the rating system, and proposed Revitalization Area Strategies activities will be provided at a public hearing which will be held at Perry City Hall, 1211 Washington St, Perry, GA 31069, March 17, 2016 at 11:30 am.
The purpose of this hearing will be to obtain citizen input into the development of the applications.
