Spencer Shugart, owner of Summit Physical Therapy, is the latest recipient of the crowd-funded Perry Downtown Development Authority (DDA) “BOOST” grant.

The money will be spent on a Clinical Electrotherapy & Ultrasound Combo Unit which will be utilized to reduce pain and increase healing in muscle and tendon injuries.

BOOST Downtown Perry is an investment group that provides micro-grants to entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses in the downtown development district.   They have awarded over $12,000 in grants since 2015.

Investors, known as BOOSTers, donate the program’s funds and vote on applications.  Current members include William Jackson of Ace Hardware, Dey Palmer of Bank of Perry, Davis Cosey of Davis Oil Company, Cheri Adams of Houston Home Journal, Brian Burnham of Perry Animal Hospital, and Dianna Hall of Village Boutique.
