Mayor Randall Walker hereby announces a special called meeting of the Perry City Council on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. for the purpose of conducting interviews for the Public Works Superintendent position. The meetings will be held at the James E. Worrall Center located at 1060 Keith Drive. All meetings of the council are open to the public unless otherwise closed in compliance with executive session guidelines.

Main Street Promotions Committee

The Promotion Committee promotes downtown Perry’s businesses and attractions, spearheads advertising and marketing campaigns, organizes retail promotions and hosts special events. The committee also works with other community groups to support their events and marketing programs . The Main Street Promotions Committee meets every third Wednesday of the month.  The meeting begins at 12:00 p.m. at the Perry Arts Center located at 1121 Macon Road, Perry. This meeting of the Downtown Development Authority was originally scheduled in May and rescheduled for June 1, 2020 The Perry Downtown Development Authority (DDA) usually meets the fourth Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the Perry Arts Center located at 1121 Macon Road, Perry. The Perry Downtown Development Authority is comprised of a volunteer Board of Directors appointed by the city council and managed by a full-time employee; board members are committed to the improvement and revitalization of downtown Perry.  The  board establishes the long-term vision and serves to accomplish those defined objectives. The Perry Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a public body created by the City of Perry for the purpose of promoting a climate favorable for the growth of new and existing businesses in our downtown. Goals of the DDA are directed toward planning and management of development and improvement activities, business recruitment and retention activities, and capital improvement projects.

The Commission makes final decisions on Preliminary Plats, Variances, and Appeals. These applications do not go to City Council.
