Camp'In Virtual Summer Camp

Welcome Campers! Perry Leisure Services is proud to present CAMP'IN: A Virtual Summer Camp Program which promises plenty of STEM Curriculum, games, physical activities, virtual field trips, and more!

While the program is designed for children 5 through 11 years of age, all ages are welcome to participate and residency in the city of Perry is not required!

Welcome to Week 1! This week you will have fun beginning each morning with a fitness routine to popular music. You will learn about science in a "sweet" experiment. Each day you are encouraged to visit the Worksheet Cafeteria where you can select your own educational activity. On Thursday, you will take a virtual field trip to Mars Wrigley Confectioner U.S. in Yorkville, Illinois to see how Skittles are made.

Materials needed: Skittles, glue gun, plastic bottle, scissors, small PVC pipe, a bowl to hold water, and a plate.

Week 2 - Super Dad!

Welcome to Week 2! This week we’re going to enjoy a superhero read out and fun workout sessions! We’ll also select a favorite activity from the Worksheet Cafeteria and create a special Father’s Day gift for a positive male role model.

On Thursday, we want you to post a short video on our Event page telling us why your positive male role model is a superhero. Bonus points if you’re dressed up as your favorite superhero!

Week 4 - Georgia On My Mind

Join our Week Four Facebook Discussion Group!

Welcome to Week 4! This week we will learn about interesting facts and places in the stet of Georgia featuring Rapper MC Georgia, the Brown Thrasher. You will be able to create delicious recipes that include Georgia’s official state fruit and/or ats and crafts projects such as the minion peanut or your very own bird watching binoculars to keep an eye on the Brown Thrasher. We will also take an exciting virtual trip to the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site.

Materials needed:

  • vanilla ice cream, peaches, milk, and vanilla extract. Optional: cherry and whipped cream
  • Peanuts in the shell, white paper, single paper hole puncher, yellow and blue pain, glue, small black marker and small paint brush
  • 2 toilet paper rolls, tape, stapler, glue scissors, marker, pencil, paper (2 different color sheets and 1 white)
