Judge Deadwyler-Heuman was appointed Associate Judge to the Perry Municipal Court on June 18, 2019. She graduated from Mercer Law School in 2010. Since that time she has spent her legal career focused on criminal justice issues, first working with the Georgia Justice Project on recidivism and prisoner reentry issues and later founding her own law firm in 2013.
Judge Deadwyler-Heuman received a prestigious national fellowship after graduation to help homeless and low income clients through non-profit work with the Georgia Justice Project, and she has continued her commitment to providing legal services for low income clients as a board member for the Georgia Legal Services Program and Middle Georgia Justice Program. In 2016 she received the State Bar of Georgia’s Young Lawyers Division Award for Ethics and Professionalism, and in 2018 she served as a special prosecutor for the City of Forsyth in resolving a long-standing compliance dispute between the City and a local developer.
Outside of work Judge Deadwyler-Heuman enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She is a member of a local Church and a native of Cordele, Georgia.
