Perry Downtown Development Authority, or DDA, is proud to announce it is accepting applications to assist small businesses and entrepreneurs in the downtown development district with funding needs.

Perry DDA, the economic restructuring arm of the Main Street, is accepting applications for the second round of BOOST grants through Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 at 5 p.m.  Grant announcements will be made in December.

Applications are completed online on the city’s website at One thousand dollars is available in this round of BOOST funding.

BOOST is a crowd-funded micro-grant.

Applicants may apply for funds for purchasing inventory, supplies, business equipment, marketing and advertising, interior and/or exterior renovations, a security system or professional services. Grant funds may not be used for payment of a rent, lease, mortgage, rental deposits, utility bills, late payments or fees, alcohol, tobacco, medicine, salaries or debts.

BOOST Downtown Perry is an investment group that provides grant funds to entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses in the downtown development district. BOOSTers, the investors in the program, donate $100 twice a year for two years to fund the program.  The DDA holds the funds until they are awarded.

Currently, twice a year the investors review the grant requests and vote on who will receive grants and the amounts of each grant. Grants are awarded in $100 increments, with a maximum grant award of $1,000.

The DDA continues to recruit investors to be able to offer more grants more frequently.

BOOSTed businesses, businesses that receive grants, receive window clings to celebrate their participation in the program and to help publicize BOOST throughout the community. BOOSTers receive a window cling to show their support for the program.
