Downtown Perry will kick off the holiday shopping season on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 24.

Participating shops, which are primarily on Carroll Street and neighboring streets in the historic downtown area, will be open on the Saturday after Thanksgiving from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The event is a partnership between the Perry Main Street Advisory Board and the Perry Downtown Merchants Council.

“We hope Small Business Saturday will encourage shoppers to visit businesses they might not have visited before so that they become more familiar with everything downtown Perry has to offer,” event organizers said.

The event will feature a passport shopping promotion, with participating merchants, for a chance to win a drawing for $300 in downtown dollars.

Shoppers are encouraged to make the welcome table at the Perry Chamber of Commerce, at 900 Carroll Street, their first stop.  There they will receive shopping passports and Shop Small shopping totes while supplies last.

After shoppers have their passports stamped by at least 10 participating businesses, they will turn in their passport at the welcome table or with the last participating merchant they visit to be entered in a drawing for $300 in downtown dollars.

No purchase is necessary to participate in the passport promotion.
