The Perry Downtown Merchants Association and Perry Main Street Program will host the 5th Annual Sweets and Treats on Downtown Streets on Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 4-6 p.m. in historic downtown Perry.  Children up to age 12 will trick-or-treat at participating businesses, and a costume contest will be held with cash prizes.  The costume contest categories are ages 0-3 years, 4-7 years,  8-12 years and family; contest winners will be announced at 5:30 p.m. near Roughton Park on the 900 block of Carroll Street.

The following streets will be closed from 3:45-7 p.m.:  Carroll Street from Jernigan to Washington, Ball Street from Commerce to Main, and Jernigan Street from Commerce to Main.

Event organizers request that trick-or-treaters stay with their parents or guardians, and no gory or inappropriate costumes are allowed.  Event organizers also ask that participants, please, do not bring their dogs.
