Mission

It is the mission of the Community Development Department to promote the general welfare of the City, to provide for long range economic and social growth with orderly planning to challenge our employees to provide accurate information, friendly service and be customer driven.

Responsibilities

Through partnership with the community, the Community Development Department strives to manage growth and promote the highest quality of development by articulating the community vision; providing information and creative recommendations based on sound planning and engineering practices; explaining and enforcing regulations; and supporting all other Departments in fulfilling the City's mission.

The departments major functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Planning & Zoning
• Building Permits and Inspections
• Code Enforcement
• Plan Review
• Opportunity Zone Information & Map
