Responsibilities

Fleet Maintenance is tasked with the responsibility to maintain all fuel operated vehicles and equipment, along with ancillary devices used by the various departments of the City of Perry. This includes providing preventative maintenance recommended by the manufacturer and remedial repairs to ensure proper operation of the vehicles and related equipment. This division also maintains a small inventory of replacement parts, fuel and supplies; provides qualified staff of mechanics and technicians; and keeps records on all equipment regarding work performed, schedules and cost. Fleet Maintenance staff evaluates the computerized information to ensure the timely maintenance of all assigned equipment; the department also researches and recommends standard equipment specifications as well as provides guidance and timing and type of replacement equipment.
