Perry's Planning Commission plays an important role in land use decisions for the city. Commissioner's review issues related to community growth and development and make recommendations to City Council on zoning and subdivision policies and land development requests. Public hearings are held by the Planning Commission to provide citizens with the opportunity to have input on land use recommendations that are forwarded to the Perry City Council for final action. Planning Commission meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Perry Municipal Building Council Chambers, 1211 Washington Street. Public notices of Planning Commission public hearings are displayed as classified legal advertisements in The Houston Home Journal prior to the public hearing date.
