The Street Division is tasked with improving and maintaining all public rights-of-way including roadways, drainage and curbs as well as sidewalks, walkways and bike paths as part of the alternate transportation plan.

Responsibilities

To follow the state and federal guidelines from Georgia Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Adminstration for transportation maintenance, design and installation.

The divisions major functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• 207 Miles of right of way maintained and mowed
• 90 Miles of sidewalks maintained and mowed
• 11 Miles of guardrails maintained and trimmed
• 40 acres of City property maintained
• Street sign and marking installation / removal
• Grading / Earth moving
• Piping / Storm water drainage
• Paving / potholes
• Specialty Projects
• Sidewalk repair / replacement
• Speed bump installation
• Curb repair / replacement
• Tree / Limb removal
• 911 Emergency On-call
