Caution: Retirement Assistance Emails

Human Resources has received several emails offering to assist employees with retirement planning or retirement benefits. Please be cautious of these messages.

  • Do not respond to unsolicited retirement assistance emails.
  • Do not provide personal, financial, Social Security, or retirement account information.
  • If you receive an email offering retirement assistance that you were not expecting, please delete it.

How to Know What Is Legitimate

  • The City’s GMA Pension Plan is frozen, and information regarding your GMA pension will not be sent directly to your City email from an outside retirement assistance company.
  • Information regarding the City’s 457 plan will come from Empower and will be sent to your personal email address.
  • You can also find official Benefits and Retirement information on the HR SharePoint.
  • Example of an unsolicited email: retirementplanningdesk.com

When in doubt, please contact Human Resources before responding or providing any personal information.
