Historic Preservation Commission
The City of Perry is committed to the preservation of Perry’s heritage, historical assets and the enhancement of local historic and aesthetic attractions to tourists. The Commission is defined and authorized by the Georgia Historic Preservation Act and the City of Perry’s Land Management Ordinance.
The City of Perry Historic Preservation Commissions identifies and proposes to the Perry City Council its recommendations for designations of historical districts or properties which enhance the historical, cultural, and aesthetic heritage of the City of Perry.
The Commission also oversees any changes to the exterior of buildings within the designated historic districts or designated historic properties (defined as building, structure, site, or work of art.)
Meetings occur on the second Tuesday of each month and are held at Perry City Hall (808 Carroll Street). Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and are open to the public.
