City of Perry Announces New Downtown Manager
The City of Perry is pleased to announce the hiring of Jara Hurt as Downtown Manager. She will lead efforts to support Historic Downtown Perry's continued growth, business development, and community engagement.
Hurt is a Perry resident with extensive experience in business outreach, event management, and community relations. She most recently served as Operations Director for the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce. In that role, she oversaw daily operations and coordinated community and business events, working closely with local business owners, community organizations, volunteers, and civic leaders to strengthen economic vitality and community connections.
As Downtown Manager, Hurt will work closely with downtown merchants, property owners, community partners, and residents to enhance the downtown experience through business support, special events, beautification initiatives, marketing efforts, and economic development programs.
"Historic Downtown Perry is a special place that reflects the heart of our community," said Hurt. "I am honored to have the opportunity to serve in this role and help support the businesses, events, and partnerships that make downtown such a vibrant destination for residents and visitors alike."
Hurt brings extensive experience in community engagement, event planning, business outreach, strategic communications, and organizational leadership.
