City of Perry Receives Clean Audit for Fifth Consecutive Year

The City of Perry has received a clean audit for the fifth consecutive year, reflecting the City’s continued commitment to strong financial management and accountability.

The audit resulted in an unmodified opinion on the City’s financial statements, the highest level of assurance that can be issued. An unmodified opinion confirms that the City’s financial statements are presented fairly, in all material respects, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

In addition to the unmodified opinion on the financial statements, the audit included required reports on compliance and federal programs. There were no findings or material weaknesses reported.

The City’s financial position remains stable, with responsible management of assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenditures across governmental and enterprise funds. The water and sewer fund, which represents a significant portion of the City’s operations, reported a healthy net position and continued operational strength.

The City of Perry also continues to receive the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association, recognizing the City’s dedication to transparency and high standards in financial reporting.

“Our goal is to ensure our community can have confidence in how public funds are managed,” said Mitchell Worthington, Assistant City Manager for the City of Perry. “Receiving a clean audit for the fifth consecutive year reflects the diligence of our staff and our commitment to responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.”
