City of Perry to Reissue Some Tax Bills for Application of Grant Credits

The City of Perry will mail replacement tax bills where the Homeowner Tax Relief Grant (HTRG) was inadvertently excluded on some tax bills.

After reviewing the tax bills, the City found that some eligible accounts did not receive the Homeowner Tax Relief Grant credit. Those accounts are being corrected, and a replacement bill is being mailed. We expect replacement bills to be received by October 31, 2026. Tax bills that included the “HTRG Credit” line are not impacted and will not receive a replacement bill.

The 2026 Homeowner Tax Relief Grant (HTRG) is a one-time, state-funded tax credit that reduces taxable assessed value by up to $18,000 for qualifying homeowners with an approved homestead exemption. This credit does not apply to rental properties, second homes, commercial properties, or properties without a qualifying homestead exemption.
