Councilmember James Moody Receives the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute’s Certificate of Achievement at 2026 Georgia Municipal Association’s Annual Convention

SAVANNAH, Ga., – Councilmember James Moody received the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute’s Certificate of Achievement during the Georgia Municipal Association’s (GMA) Annual Convention in Savannah on June 29.

The Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute, a cooperative effort on GMA and the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government, provides a nationally recognized series of training opportunities for city officials.

“This accomplishment reflects a strong commitment to excellence in public service,” said GMA CEO and Executive Director Larry Hanson. “Through continued investment in professional development, Councilmember James Moody demonstrates leadership that benefits not only the residents of Perry, but also advances the strength and effectiveness of local governments throughout Georgia. This achievement sets a meaningful example for city officials across our state.”

The Certificate of Achievement requires 72 hours of training, including at least 36 hours from the required list and the Newly Elected Officials Institute. The training program consists of more than 80 courses.
