Fuego Fresco Brings Flavor and Community Spirit to Historic Downtown Perry
The aroma of fresh tortillas, sizzling fajitas, and authentic spices filled the air as community members gathered to celebrate the official grand opening of Fuego Fresco Mexican Restaurant, located at 1009 Northside Drive in Historic Downtown Perry.
City officials, Main Street Advisory Board members, and local residents joined together to welcome Fuego Fresco’s ownersas they received the ceremonial Key to the Downtown District – a symbol of unlocking new opportunities and growth in the heart of Perry.
Valerie Moore, Vice Chair of the Main Street Advisory Board, shared what makes Perry’s downtown truly special. “A vibrant downtown needs a perfect mix of businesses,” Moore said. “You need service providers, local government, churches, an most importantly the mom-and-pop shops that bring creativity and individuality to a town. And of course, unique food, because we all love to eat!”
She noted how downtown Perry has steadily grown into a well-rounded destination, checking off long-wished-for additions such as clothing boutiques, shoe stores, and now – authentic Mexican cuisine. “We’ve always said downtown Perry needed a place where you could enjoy a night out and great food right in the heart of town,” Moore added. “And now we have it. Who doesn’t love chips, queso, salsa, and guacamole?”
For Fuego Fesco’s owners - opening Fuego Fresco is more than a business venture – it’s a dream realized. “We have poured our hearts into every detail of this restaurant for our customers to enjoy,” they said. “Our dream is to bring the most authentic Mexican food to the heart of Perry and to create a place where everyone feels welcome.”

We look forward to serving our delicious food to the community for many years to come.”

My wife has already declared that the tamales here are the best she’s ever had anywhere in the world – so that’s saying something!”
