Perry Receives Top Award for Transparency in Financial Reporting
The City of Perry has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. This year marks the City’s 29th time receiving this recognition.
The certificate is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant achievement for the City. An impartial review panel determined that Perry’s financial report met the program’s high standards, including a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” that clearly communicates the City’s financial story and encourages residents and stakeholders to engage with the report.
“This recognition reflects the City of Perry’s ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars,” said Mitchell Worthington, City of Perry Finance Director. “We are proud to meet these high standards and will continue to ensure our community has clear, accessible financial information.”
The GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement is awarded to governments that go beyond minimum requirements and demonstrate best practices in public financial reporting. The City of Perry is honored to join the ranks of governments across North America recognized for excellence in financial management and reporting.
The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report is available on the City’s website at perry-ga.gov/finance.
